YOUTH PASTOR (Part Time)
About us
Shore Grace Church is a community church located in Greenhithe, North Shore. Auckland. Developing Youth and Young Adult faith community has been an important part of our purpose since the church was planted in 2003, as part of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa NZ (https://wesleyan.nz/)
Shore Grace currently runs a youth group/community called ‘Collins Youth’ which also compliments other community youth initiatives, such as the ‘Greenhithe Youth Collective’ (GYC).
We are looking for some-one to lead our youth community as a space for fostering good and healthy social connection, including the encouragement of youth in their life and faith journey.
Qualifications & experience
Ideally you will have experience working with youth in church and/or community work environments. Currently we have a smaller youth community with the potential to grow.
Ideally you will have done or be doing tertiary study in a relevant area. This might be an ideal opportunity to gain more experience in youth work.
You would need a passion for youth and youth issues and the desire to make a difference!
Tasks & responsibilities
The role will require planning and leading the youth initiatives of Shore Grace.
It will require good relational skills and capacity to pastorally reach out and respond to student needs within a supportive team leadership environment.
The ability to be aware of and lead youth discussions on faith and life topics.
The commitment to be a part of the church, building connections on Sunday and youth gatherings.
Benefits
This role offers great experience in leadership overall, in a supportive, learning environment; Work hours, can be adjusted for other part time work or study commitments. The offer is for 15 hours per week, (negotiable).
