Associate Pastor (Youth and Young Adults) – Full-Time Position
Northgate Baptist Church started in the hearts of Tony and Heidi Versey in the early 2000s and officially opened up in the bar at the Silverdale Rugby Club in Auckland, in 2005 – but now operates out of a purpose-built facility attached to the club. We as a people share in the ancient tradition of people gathering together and wondering what it looks like to centre our lives around Jesus. He has shaped our world, our morals and our ethics more than any other person in human history. We think that Jesus is still very relevant to the here and now and offers great wisdom for our world today.
Jesus invites us to follow him and how he lived. We know that this journey is messy as we are all works in progress, but it is well worth it. Our goal as a church is ultimately to help people on this journey as they become alive to who God has made them to be.
As part of Northgate’s wider vision ‘to equip a community of people to demonstrate living proof of a loving God’, we are seeking to employ as part of our team an Associate Pastor (Youth and Young Adults) - or couple, to work within our culture that embraces a Bible-based philosophy of ministry, caring and discipling for people with a balance of grace and truth. We value belonging, generosity, kindness, community connection and emotionally healthy spirituality.
Do you have an authentic and time tested personal love relationship and discipleship journey with Jesus?
Do you love working with people of all ages, but particularly have skills, knowledge and experience which would support our growing Youth and Young Adults Ministry (both within the church and connecting with the local community)?
Do you have experience in growing teams, leading and operating programmes within a church context? • Do you have skills and a love for public speaking and communication?
Do you have experience in mentoring and discipling?
Do you want to develop your future leadership and management capacity - possibly even lead a church community in the future?
If you are keen to be part of a team changing lives and having an impact in our community we’d love to hear from you
