YouthTRANZ

you’ve poured up to five years of your life
into five years of theirs.
now they are leaving…
what are you going to do about it?
YouthTRANZ—What is it?
One of the most dangerous times for a young person’s faith
is when they leave behind the familiar and head into the unknown.
The youth ministry that nurtured their faith can no longer do so—they
must connect with another church and ministry and their ability
to do this successfully will largely determine the future of their
faith as they head into adulthood.
YouthTRANZ is a strategy that allows you to connect
your young people up with an effective youth ministry in the town
or city to which they are moving. It is primarily aimed at those
leaving to study at a tertiary institution but can also be used
in the case of a young person whose family is moving (and may not
encourage them to attend church).
YouthTRANZ is not just about your making sure
your young people find a new church and youth ministry. It’s
about making yourself available to follow up people new to your
town or city and personally inviting them to be part of your church.
YouthTRANZ is about “keeping them in the
kingdom” - so get involved today and together we can make
the “tranz-ition” easier for the young people in our
churches.
YouthTRANZ—How does it work?
Step One: Sign up for YouthTRANZ—see
the link below. By doing so you indicate you are willing to follow
up young people new to your town or city.
Step Two: If you have young people or a young
person leaving your ministry for a new town or city, gain their
permission to submit details using the link below. We will email
you information about churches in the town or city they are leaving
for along with a booklet for each young person called "Prepare!
Insights and Advice for Those Leaving Home to Study".
Step Three: Contact any or all of the youth leaders
whose details we supply you with and let them know when the young
person arrives and how to contact them (again with the young person’s
permission).
Step Four: Follow up with the young person and
your contacts to see how the “transfer” is going.
The most important thing at this stage is to register for YouthTRANZ.
If you do not register we will be unable to contact you with details
of who is moving to your area. For information on what is expected
of youth leaders who register, click
here. To register click here.
On registering you will receive links to three FREE Bible
studies plus our a link to our booklet "Prepare! Insights
and Advice for Those Leaving Home to Study" designed to help
young people make the transition to a new town and church home.
To download the first of these Bible studies for inspection click
here.
If you have young people leaving your youth ministry to live or
study in another town or city be sure to let us know. To do this
click here. We will send you details
of churches who have registered in that area along with links to
three FREE Bible studies and
a FREE booklet for each young person called "Prepare!
Insights and Advice for Those Leaving Home to Study".
Before placing another bulk order, a local Scripture Union worker
described this booklet as "definitely the best book out
there for year 12&13 students heading to Uni." so
be sure to get copies for your young people.
