YouthTRANZ—What
is it?
One of the most dangerous times for a young person’s
faith is when they leave behind the familiar and head into
the unknown. The youth ministry that nurtured their faith
can no longer do so—they must connect with another church
and ministry and their ability to do this successfully will
largely determine the future of their faith as they head into
adulthood.
YouthTRANZ was formed by YouthTRAIN
and the Baptist
Student Hostel, Palmerston North and exists to provide
resources and support for young New Zealanders leaving home
to study in a new city.
If you are a youth leader...
- Visit the YouthTRANZ
facebook page and "like" us. When you do you
will be sent a link to some resources to help young people
with this important transition and to help you support them
in it. These include three Bible studies you can use to
help prepare the young people you have been discipling for
the move to a new city and a new church.
- If you are willing to greet and follow up new students
to your city visit the YouthTRANZ
facebook page post your details on our wall including
links to your youth ministry or church and contact details.
- If you are aware of accommodation available - hostels
or flats, post those details on our facebook page too.
If you are a young person looking to move to a new city
to study (or you are a parent or a friend on someone)...
- Visit the YouthTRANZ
facebook page and "like" us - that gives us
a practical measure of the scheme's value and helps funding.
- Go to our resources page
and download any resources that you think may be helpful,
particularly the booklet PREPARE!
- If you are looking to find a church in your new city read
through the church links and descriptions there or place
a post saying where you are going and asking for information
on churches or accommodation.
YouthTRANZ is made possible
