Carey Baptist College: Onsite Block Courses
For those who find distance study in the Diploma in Youth
Ministry is too difficult and want to study with a group of
students, face to face with a lecturer, YouthTRAIN teaches
the papers they tutor on site at Carey Baptist College according
to the following schedule:

Participants
in intensives need not enrol at Carey Baptist College as a
student. They can "audit" the course, attending
the teaching sessions but not having to do assignments. Cost
of auditing a course is NZ$250 compared to NZ$535.50 to enrol
in a course.One course is offered per semester as follows
in Auckland and Christchurch where enrolments permit.

MM573 Introduction to Youth
Leadership
- Principles of Spiritual Leadership (2
days)
Analyse the dynamics and responsibilities of spiritual leadership,
with particular reference to call, motivation, requirements,
responsibilities, skills, style and trials.
- Management and Ministry (2 days)
Develop an understanding of the dynamics and requirements
of management in ministry with particular reference to time
and financial management, marketing, planning, delegation,
motivation, decision making, conflict resolution, change
management and discipline.

- Auckland: 4,5 March and 6,7 May 2010
at Carey Baptist College
- Christchurch: 9-12 March 2010
at Canterbury Youth Services
MM575 Pastoral Care of Adolescents
- Adolescence(2 days)
Learn developmental characteristics of adolescence such
as physical, sexual, emotional, social, intellectual, moral
and spiritual. Understand the impact of factors affecting
behaviour such as personality, environment and the family..
- Adolescent Pastoral Care (2 days)
Learn principles and practices of pastoral care to adolescents
with particular reference to personal qualities, listening
skills, building helping relationships, common pastoral
care issues, handling crises, confidentiality and referral.

- Auckland: 22,23 July and 16,17 September
2010 at Carey Baptist College
- Christchurch: 27-30 July 2010
at Canterbury Youth Services
