Featured Resource: EFFECTIVE YOUTH MINISTRY

I wish someone had given me this little booklet when I first started out in youth ministry! Here is a simple outline of the essentials of youth ministry along with checklists, questions for reflection, practical stories of how to put it into practice. And its only $10!

"Effective Youth Ministry" has just 5 chapters which will help you answer the following questions:

  1. Youth Culture: Is your ministry irrelevant to the cultural world of young people - or is it too relevant to the point you are compromising the message and conforming to culture rather than challenging it?
  2. Foundations of Youth Ministry: What are the underlying non negotiables of your ministry based on Scripture? I will suggest five that go far beyond the type of programmes you run each week. If you focus on these you will build a strong foundation on which to build your programmes.
  3. Programming Elements: In putting together programmes, what is essential, what is desirable, and what is a waste of time!? There are five things every youth ministry should be doing - five things that lead to well rounded disciples. Is your youth group doing all five well?
  4. Leadership Structure: Ever had trouble finding leaders? Or keeping them. Perhaps a reason is you have an idea of what a leader is and should do when in fact there are five types of leaders every youth ministry needs. Broaden your understanding of what is required and you'll start to find more leaders - leaders who enjoy what they do.
  5. Setting Direction: God is constantly wanting to move your ministry forward yet it's easy to get stuck doing the same thing from year to year. Here you will learn how to develop a snapshot of where you are at, where you could be, and how you might get there.

As a youth pastor I would want every person on my team to have a copy and I would schedule time for us to discuss it together. Join us for a P4 seminar and receive a free copy or view and purchase copies for your team online now.
