Mike King Visit
It was great to see so many youth workers come to hear Mike
King speak on his recent visit to NZ and to have such good
feedback from the day seminars and conferences he spoke at.
If you want to keep up to date with what he's doing and thinking
check out his blog
(you can currently read his thoughts on his NZ visit there).
Also check out the Immerse
magazine website which he is executive editor for.
Part way through the visit he ran out of copies of his book
Presence Centred Youth Ministry. Canterbury Youth Services
are able to import a number of copies at a reduced shipping
rate so if you missed out email
them and ask to be sent a copy when it arrives.

YouthTRAIN's Leadership Training resource is a CD-ROM that
contains eight 180 page youth ministry manuals
covering Christian leadership, management, youth ministry
design, youth ministry programming, adolescence, adolescent
pastoral care, youth culture and communication. All this for
just NZ$120. And if that's not enough this CD-ROM contains
80 training sessions for leaders - one for
each section of the 8 manuals. This is an ideal resource for
youth pastors and key leaders wanting to upskill and train
their teams in the process. For more details including free

P4
P4
is a comprehensive youth ministry training programme that
has all the flexibility and content you need to train your
volunteer leadership team. It is replacing the successful
TARGET7 training days, keeping the best of this training and
adding much more. P4 includes the following elements and you
can take advantage of any or all of the following
- Four one day training seminars held over a two year period
covering four training modules: Personal, programming, Planning
and Pastoral. Attendees receive a 30 page training workbook.
- A leaders guide that allows you to either build on what
was covered in the seminars or repeat it for your own leadership
team.
- 60 page booklets for each module that you can give to
each member of your leadership team to read. These are easy
to read and contain lots of real life illustrations, checklists
and questions for personal reflection and discussion.
The first P4 training module to be available is Personal
and covers the call to leadership, the motivation for leadership,
the responsibilities of a youth leader, the trials of leadership
and leadership and teams. Training seminars will be held throughout
NZ later in the year - details to be advised although the
first one is scheduled for Rotorua on August 14. More details
can be seen on our website here
along with a free download of chapter 1 from the first booklet.
